OCEAN HAT SIZE GUIDE
Our hats are made to stay put, whether you’re surfing, boating, diving or just out chasing the water — so they’re designed with a snug, secure fit.
If you’re sitting between sizes, we recommend sizing up. You can always tighten your Sea Coins hat down by 1–2cm with the adjustable system, giving you a comfy fit without feeling too tight.
When in doubt, go up a size — you can tighten it, but you can’t make it bigger!
Sun safety starts young! Our Kids Lids are designed to grow with your little water chasers, with the 54cm size best suited to ages 1–6.
For smaller noggins, simply tighten the bungee and Velcro strap to bring the hat down to around 52cm, making it a great fit for little ones aged roughly 1–3 years.
One lid, plenty of room to grow — and more time spent safely chasing the water.
Our Small 57cm is the all-rounder of the bunch, fitting everyone from bigger kids to adults. For reference, it’s around the same size as a standard cap and will suit the average adult head comfortably.
If your little one is starting to push the 54cm Kids Lid, we recommend sizing up to the 57cm. With our adjustable fit, you can tighten it down now and leave plenty of room to grow — meaning more beach days, more adventures and more wear out of their Sea Coins hat.
If you’re the type to loosen the strap on a standard cap, our Large 60cm is probably your go-to. It’s made for those with a slightly above-average noggin who like a little extra room.
And don’t worry about it being too loose — you can always use the bungee and Velcro system to tighten it down for a secure fit when you’re out on the boat or in water.
How to Measure your Head
- Grab a measuring tape and wrap it around your forehead, where your hat would naturally sit.
- Take it around the widest part of the back of your head, sitting just above your ears. Keep it snug, but not tight.
- Check your measurement and find your Sea Coins size above.
Between sizes? Size up. Our hats have a dual-adjustable system, so you can tighten them down by around 1–2cm for your perfect fit.
